Day 27

Good morning everyone! Just a quick update…My wonderful Dad came over last night so that Zane and I could get some good sleep; Seton had the best night he has had in a few months! He did not need any suctioning between 10pm and 7am (THAT IS 9 HOURS!!! J), he did wake up a few times coughing but was able to swallow the secretions! Yay, Seton! Keep it up! Thanks again Dad!

Today at 3:00 we are going to get new splints for Seton’s hands. Please pray that Seton will be relaxed enough that his OT can get this set almost flat (or in neutral).
I could not get him to look at the camera

Today’s prayer request is for his feeding button. I know that we have prayed for this a few times already, the infection on his skin around his button is slowly getting better but the button continues to leak. The more it leaks the less chance the skin has to heal because it is always wet. Insurance will pay for a new button every 6 months, so we will get a new one in a few weeks; but I do not think that the button is the problem. When he coughs it leaks…if you hold him wrong it leaks…if he lays wrong it leaks…and sometimes it just leaks for no reason. When it leaks stomach acid and milk leak, he is not getting all his milk and the acid irritates the already infected skin. It is an endless cycle. I spoke to Dr. H yesterday and we are going to try coconut oil and tea tree oil mixture to see if we can clear up this infection.
Just in case you do not know what I am talking about when I say Feeding Button I have included some pictures. These are not pictures of Seton's button. In the first picture the balloon at the bottom keeps it in his stomach.

This is all we see on his skin, except his skin is red and angry looking.

Jesus Heals a Blind Man at Bethsaida
22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”
24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
